Howdy. I'm currently a 32 blm/16whm and I'm partying in Garlaige Citadel. There's a couple of problems I have w/ it though. For one, it's too confined what with all the hallways. Partys are all lined up in the hall, and it's more difficult to get a pull. Moreover, bat-linking is a huge problem and it's hard to find beetles. There are so many bats and my party suffers as a result, and half the time, there are parties zoning, which brings about more bats . I'm just wondering if theres an alternative area to hunt in other than Garlaige Citadel. Thanks

You could try to PT in Eastern Altepa Desert at the zone to West Altepa. You'll xp of beetles and the odd dhalmel/spider if you're so inclined.

Behemoth's Dominion is a good spot to xp also. There are lots of bats and really no aggro, though your PT has to be good since you can't run anywhere quickly to escape from linked mobs.

Outside in Sauromugue itself, by the cermet spine off of weapons.

Plus it's a lot easier to get sheep to come out from Garbage Sh1tadel to Sauromugue than it is to get them to go to Altepa.

Dominion is a little too early for 32. normally parties of 35-36 go there. btw, bats there do NOT link, only aggro by sound.

besides Altepa and Sauromugue that r already mentioned, the following places may be good alternatives;

Yuhtunga Jungle - F-11, near zone to Sea Serpent Grotto, fish and sahagins. (might be too easy for 32, but since the below is right next, worth a look.)

Sea Serpent Grotto - either at the entrance or in front of Norg, sahagins at the entrance, crabs and bones for Norg.

also, from 33;

Eldieme Necropolis - enter from G-8 of Batallia, Gazers.

Crawlers Nest - Worker Crawlers, provided u have either RDM or BRD to take off the def up effect. if for the obvious reason u wanna avoid CNest, nvm

Nooo! You guys are giving away one of the best XP spots, Dominion I love it. Hardly anybody ever there. Oh wells, maybe more people won't look at me funny when I suggest it anymore. Just beward only really spot for 1 fast chaining party there(near the zone), please don't camp on top of another because those bats pop SLOOOW.

It's not complete by any means but its got some good camps that people don't know about. It should also give you an idea of what places to look for at certain level ranges. Good luck.

if you have no train and the puller don't pull links, GL bats are really the easiest for 32 all the way to 37. It has to be my favourite spot so far. Make sure you have at least a THF or BLM with you, THF SATA Viper Bite is super powerful against them.

Garlaige blows for exp. I'm sorry for those sheeps that are forced to go there because people in HNM LS leveling their 30s job need to make sure they can run back to Jeuno to make the Jormy camp in time. www

Altepa and any open-space zone are great areas to exp. There is virtually no way a train induced PK can occur unless you're camping a zone (which is stupid to do in those areas) and because of the wide open areas, makes pulling much, much easier and less of a hassle.

The only thing about Altepa are that 9/10 mages/ninjas just don't like to deal with the whole Antican issue. LOL I <3 those things. They're just so ugly, they seem almost pretty (Ya need to get drunk in that tavern in Lower Jeuno first, bwahaha) Nothing more satisfying than to see a WHM flustered and can't get cures off to the dying tank. Weeeee

On the contrary, all I ever see in Garlaige are rank 1-5 people, never anyone I know from HNMLS'. Higher levels seem to avoid Garlaige like the plague. They only go there if it's completely empty, because it's not worth dealing with bad pullers in other PTs. (and who camps Jormungand lol?)

Just stick to places with open areas like Aeni and the others mentioned. Easy pulls and no competition make for easy xp.

That's because many "higher levels" also tend to have much more advanced social networks that they can rely on to form parties composed mostly (or entirely) of trusted friends and/or LS mates.

HNM shells in particular are great for this sort of thing.

"Lowbies" don't have these networks in place, so they really have no choice but to go with the pickup pool, who invariably refuse to try anything innovative.

Has anybody EXP'd in Promy areas? I've gone to farm Animas in the past and thought about how it would be great for an EXP party Has anybody toyed with this?

especially since they changed it to getting xp relative to your new level (ie 30) instead of getting xp relative to your real level. (ie 40+ where everything's {Too Weak})

plus w/ an ENM at the end just waiting to give you 3k xp and an item, why not.

plus to all those BLM for promy haters out there, you don't have to wipe if somone does something stupid, or if you just don't feel like dodging more emptys looking for the teleporter. Escape <does> work.
