A Question

I'm farily new to the game. I am a lvl 10 RDM, and I'm wondering when I should go to the dunes and try to get in a party. Should I go ahead and try now? Or should I just level up some more and go at 12 or 13? I've got all my spells, good armor, and a good weapon. I also have a Chariot Band. The other day, I was in a party with 2 of my friends, a lvl 8 BLM, and a lvl 7 SMN/lvl 3 WHM. With the band, I was getting 94 exp per battle. We were fighting strolling saplings (tough high def) and doing really good. I was tanking because I had the most HP. I got lvl 10 after playing in that party. Any guidance?

What I would do is put your party flag up but continue to fight outside of the dunes, either in the highlands or the plains. This way you can still earn xp while you wait. At level I would rather be in a party.
