WOW........its been a VERY LONG time since I last came to these forums or any FFXI forums in general (lol, last login here was 10-26-2007). Everyone I used to remember on here is probably long gone haha.

Anyways, I'm goin to get to the point. My current host who also hosts HOV is not reliable and I've had numerous connection timeouts, lots of unexpected downtime, and pages taking forever to load. You probably never noticed this when you visited HOV because that is your old school type of webpage.

So I have moved to a new host and I'm planning to cancel my service with them on Feb 25th.

Now here is the thing.........I haven't talked to Kerrigan in ages and when I checked the site myself, it was last updated on 2007 methinks. So I think its safe to say Kerrigan will never work on the site again.

So I recently emailed Kerrigan and gave him/her two choices
1) Either let me move your site to my new host and I will fork over whatever $ to pay for a domain called historyofvanadiel.info

2) Lets just forget about it and call it quits.

If I don't get a response by Feb 25th, The History of Vana'diel is going down, but I will have a copy of hte site on my own pc so even if Kerrigan responds after that date, it will be ok.

I thought I let you guys know about this since I am the one who hosts Kerrigan's site after all and most of you would wonder why on Feb 25th, why HOV is not working.

Same. I regret that I was never able to finish the final CoP fight - Apocalypse Nigh. I did everything, even Dawn. I would at least like to figure out what happened, but I can't find any other sort of site that has as much info as HoV had.

First post, but been lurking around here for a while.
It's a real shame HoV is no longer active

But something a little more positive for the people that enjoyed reading HoV. For a while on my blog I made "Catch up" posts of the Wotg quests and missions to refresh my memory of what has happened just before a update. Now that HoV has gone I would very much like to expand this to a new blog for everyone to enjoy and make it into a real history.


A few questions for people though, what kind of things would you guys like to see in this?

I know that people have already commented that one of the things they would have liked to have in Kerrigan's HoV was to have the player character acknowledged more in the histories. So that is one thing I will do.

Once I have a bit more information on the site I will post the link up for people

I am not sure if it is more of a tragedy that I haven't seen HOV or that it is shut down, but I'm here to offer you something.

I will host HOV for free forever. I am currently paying for a host which I will never drop (unless they go out of business), in which case I will switch to a new host. I am a web developer and a blogger, so I will always have a host.

In any case, if you are interested in getting HOV up and running again for free, just let me know! You can either PM me or reply here.

If you would like to do it, I can set up the FTP for you and everything else so we can provide people with what you have worked so hard on.

Thats the only one Ive been able to find too. Its pretty much all there, but its an older version and doesn't include what limited Toau stuff was up (and any changes/mods made on the site between cop and toau updates). It also isnt the pretty html version :/ Still better than nothing.

In the meantime, there is The History of Vana'diel . I'm not certain if it's the same or not, though.
