I've only seen about a million times, "We will support content as long as players continued to play FFXI".

There was interview with SE when ROZ released they said the current FFXI+ROZ expansion is only 20% of there current plan for ffxi im 100% sure just need to find the interview its too old i hope someone find it :/

Well given that it takes at least 3yrs to safely develop anything close to ffxi orginal.

You got around that time for ffxi to become part of history.

Without a doubt there is a sucessor in the works, but given the timing of 360, and ps3, they will put effort into driving FFxi till then.

And EQ1 had its unofficial RIP long ago. People can still play it, but ever since EQ2, you can see no one really puts much focus on it besides keeping it running.

FFxi at this point without any sucessor, SE will still actively pour resources into it, as we just seen from oct update

I remember reading this too... somewhere.

I think FFXI will last quite a while. At least 2-3 more years... probally more.
