Does anybody know anyone in ffxi that...

That is a male person in real life but has a female character? lol, it's just it's started to scare me seeing as now, almost all of my real life friends have female characters and two mithra's that I know online have admitted to being male... It's just such a scary thought to me><;;. I mean, I know it's nicer to look at while you're playing... but... but... ewww><;;

anyone?

Im a guy. My char is a mithra. What is wrong with that? Im not running around blowing ppl kisses and calling ppl honey and stuff. Im a mithra because I am. If you are uncomfortable with males playing as female characters then you my friend are a homophobe. If you dont like finding out that female chars are played by males... THEN DONT ASK! Problem solved. Theres nothing wrong with it. Have you played D2? Are you uncomfortable with playing with sorcs, asns and zons? because most of them are actually guys. Get one thing straight. The majority of gamers are MALE.

I know at least one person. :p It's not like it really matters, it is a role playing game after all.

I have no problem with a Male wanting to play as a women .
but WHY.I mean why would a guy want to play as a girl. I guess some men want too know how it feels.

:sweat: Surely a guy couldn't feel like a girl if they played one in an RPG? I think there would be more to the experience, heh. I think they would play as a girl to either
a) Role Play as a character they've built on elsewhere (or would like to start one) and add their FFXI character as an extension of that, or
b) They wanna look at a girl's butt all day instead of a guy's. Not to mention the other areas... I can't think of any other reason though.

Why not? Everyone has their own reason, but odds are that it has nothing to do with a repressed desire to be the opposite sex in real life. Sometimes it's just more appealing to see the female form most of your game time. We see ourselves all the time and are stuck like this for the most part (male or female depending on who you are) There's no reason in a rpg to make the spitting image of yourself, it's an opportunity for an exaggeration or reflection of your own personality. If everyone just made a character that looks like them, then the world would be mostly filled with Hume males and a few females (sounds pretty dull). Does playing a Taru Taru mean that you are a 3 foot person for real? (no offense to anyone actually 3 feet tall) I chose Mithra cause I dig the tail and the Galka version doesn't cut it for me. I like cats too. I have a Taru character that I like playing cause it's so cute. If I had time for a third, I would probably make a striking Female Elvaan. Part of me would like to make the biggest, baldest Galka and name him Homer. I see it as an outlet for extending aspects of your personality or even if it's totally not you.

OK no offense but YOU ARE FRECKING ME OUT.Stop it.There was no need for that long post.I just said that because all of the people I know would rather be a male in a game because they are stronger but for a female I would understaned if they would be a female.

A character's sex in FFXI has absolutely NOTHING to do with stats.
