Can pirates attack the boat during the daytime (4:00-18:00)? Or only at night? I've been wondering about this for a while now.

I believe they can attack in the day too, but honestly, I've never really paid much attention to the time (will now though

It's been a LONG time since I rode the ferry but I believe it has to be foggy in order for them to attack. Day or night doesn't matter.

I was just researching on Allakhazham and I found out that the pirates can spawn at any time of day and in any weather condition.

I went on the boat today to search for the sand charm. Pirates spawned on my 3rd boat ride. It was night time, but it wasn't foggy.

iirc, the sky turns foggy when they appear not the other way around.

No it's the other way around. If you go up on deck and there's a thick mist, you're probably in for a pirate attack. Time of day doesn't matter.

I've had it be a totally clear day before, but then the music changes, it gets foggy, and the pirates show up. There is a way however to always know if they're going to show up, before it happens.

They can attack any-time anywhere! Be careful or you might just find yourself hacked to death while your taking a dump!

Ok Ill be serious...

When you spawn in the boat if you can target the door in the cargo room right away I beleive that it means there will be an attack. When it takes about 5 seconds to target they shouldn't attack. Might be the otherway around.

I've played this game for like two or three years, (including Beta) and I often ride the boat for fun. I've only had ONE freaking encounter with pirates. And that was like a year ago, too.

Yeah, Seldzar pretty well got it. I usually just wait for the inside of the boat to load when you zone. If you can see all the other pc's as soon as it loads then that means pirates, otherwise it takes a few seconds to load and that means no pirates. Its dependable too. Tried it like 10 times, always right and never gives false positves or negatives.

I have seen 3 pirates attack in 4 months. They can attack any time of day, fog will allways apear right when music changes, and the Loading will allways tell you. Ive died 2 times tho.
