You want to go for the adv. jobs asap huh? I really suggest you go with fully leveled sj if you want to level fast by getting invited into any GOOD parties out there, where people don't die, and just constant chains to gain high exps. yeah, but like neighbortaru said, it's not impossible, some people might say bad things about it. I did hear about people doing that. and my character on midgard right now is pretty gimped, with no gear AND underleveled subjob. I happen level for fun of Skill Chaining, and thrill of getting my taru mnk on the edge of death with provoke. most of times I just chill and chat.

So.. if you want to seriously play, GO FOR THE SUBJOB and help out the Party! Heck start off with WHM and sub job BLM or vise versa, you'll level to 30 fast! Also remember the gears if you are tank

Level your blm to 15 over the weekend then you wont have to worry about again - then take your whm to 30

I'm gonna take a wild guess and assume you want to become a smn (logical main for whm). If this is true, then the best course of action would be to lvl blm to 18 (keep all of the gear for later), get the subjob quest done, then level whm to 37 and take time out after 30 to get the smn job quest done, then finally you can take smn to 75 without having to worry about lvling whm again. With this plan, you can get warp for blm, and the basic teleport spells for whm.

This may seem like a lot of work. But in reality, this is fast because you are leveling one job straight through without having a gimped subjob and you won't have to switch gear much because of the same reason.

But if this doesn't convince you, lemme put it this way... I wish i had took mnk to 18, then war to 37, then started sam and/or rng. Having to xp my lvl 30 war after sam hit 60 sucks because most ppl sell their lowby gear (or bought mules early like i did because I knew i had to lvl war again).

Works pretty well if you are planning to go BRD too which is the other logical main for WHM.

I agree with what fastcart said.

I wouldn't LV a job to 30 without a SJ. Just take the time to LV BLM a little bit. It won't take long.

i know you think this is a good way to get where you are going. straight shot to lvl30 and your new main job. yes it is possible. it wasnt that long ago i saw a lvl 26 whm/no sub in kazham. yes they got a party and yes they did ok. but first thing you should know is part of playing is learning your job, and learning about other jobs as well. this is so you understand what everyones job is in the party. level your sub and use it. not having a sub is like eating soup out of a plate instead of a bowl. it is possible to do it, buts its just not as satisfying in the long run. dont be in a hurry you cant win. just enjoy the ride its not a race. have fun. some of the best things in the game are done when you arent leveling. quests and missions are fun and beneficial.
