I remember reading a long time ago that the Elvaan Males had their dagger fighting style modeled after some sort of professional fighting stance. I believed it was somewhere in Europe, or of European decent. Well looking at the stance and strike motions I would say it seems to be more of European decent. It definatly isn't of a Brazillion Jujitsu style, but then again most of that style is grappling.
As far as Great Katanas there really isn't many styles you can hold for it and all of them are Kendo (Japan). Even when they run, with the weapon out, they look very samurai-ish. Hume Male look like they're on a more defensive stance, where as the male elvaan one looks like he's ready for a first strike attempt?
