Re: Summerfest party crashers
I had just arrived back in Windy Woods yesterday after a spot of fishing around general areas of Windy, when all of a sudden.......
WOW! The big tree around the small waterfall had completely changed into something really nice, and these little NPCs suddenly appeared, and started dancing around the tree.

Next thing I knew, the background music had changed, (and for once in while, I thought it was for the better too. The music was really cool I thought) and lots of bright and colorful fireworks had spread their way through Windy skies, making lots of BIG bangs as they went!

I don't understand how ANYONE could not enjoy something like this.
I know I certainly did.

Afterwards, I wandered off to East Saruta Baruta to join in the Goldfish Scooping competition with more than a dozen other players. It was certainly good fun too.
Everyone enjoyed themselves as they laughed and joked around with friends e.t.c.
I could tell that everyone loved it!

Re: Summerfest party crashers
Summerfest is great, to bad it sounds like the dungeon exploring isn't there but it did open a lot of exploting possibilities I'm sure SE became aware of. Me and a Friend spent the entire event just doing dungeon runs every like 2-5 min. we knew the dungeons and the points to reach by heart. At the end of the event I had 1 mule with about 14 stacks of Chocobo tickets, I've only used up about maybe 2 or 3 stacks in an entire year.

Yes, there's a similar tag-team game this year, called "Azimuth Circle"; it seems to involve running around town in pairs, trying to find the correct checkpoint (one of many). You can only check 3, but each one points you to the correct one for your partner, so if you work together you're supposed to be able to each find the correct one. If you find the correct one, you get an item; like last year, you need to exchange the items between you to turn them in for a reward. There's only 1 item to be gotten each day (so best case scenario it takes 4 ingame-days to get all 4 items for your swimsuit and swimsuit +1, altho i expect the +1 might require a bit more work).

There's also a reference to another game; not sure if this is for summerfest or for some other event that will take place before the next patch:

Have you ever heard of Blitz Buffalo, kupo? It's a fast and frenzied buffalo-chasing fiasco ferried in from a land to the far west of Quon!
We moogles thought it sounded like fun! So we rounded up a bunch of buffalos and set them loose in several places, kupo!
Also, we've tied an item to each buffalo! Anyone who catches one can keep the item as a reward! It's a great opportunity for adventurers, kupo!
But the buffalos aren't going to take a bunch of frantic adventurers chasing them lightly! You may have to knock one out before it yields its precious item, kupo!
If you manage to lay your hands on a buffalo, you better prepare to be flung around, kupo... Kupohoho~.
Of course, it wouldn't be too good if you ended up being the one chased either, kupo! Just take care, and good luck, kupo!

Re: Summerfest party crashers
I am having fun as I always do with events.

I just wish Those(the immature shouters, not all Hnm'ers) who want to just Hunt HNM, level and Bash others would stop and just go abut their business.
agreed, but most these people need to belittle everyone and everything because in RL they dont have any status. sad really.

Thank you pebbles, I was wondering what was in store since I read that there would be a game on playonline.com

That kinda sounds like what they did for the Christmas event two years ago where you had to chase down tree o.o

If that's the case then that event will totally kick ass =D

Re: Summerfest party crashers
Like some have already said, I just wish the reward items were more accessable for lowbies.

As a lvl 10 whm/5 blm, I have no chance of rounding up enough gil to buy the ingredients to have someone craft a fish tank for me. And from what I understand, I'm no where near a high enough lvl to go farm the ingred. myself. Since the crafting can only be done by higher level crafters (not referring to the goldfish bowl here, I want the big aquarium), it's not like I can just run out and lvl my crafting to do it myself even if I could afford the ingredients.

<sigh> I love this game, but being a casual player really sucks at times.

Re: Summerfest party crashers
I heard that important ingridients for the fish tanks can be found by clamming on Purongogo. That would explain why the HQ swim wear stuff enhances clamming skills. If this is true then I suspect the price of the fish tank stuff will slowly drop due to more people being able to get the items needed. Though it still woulda been cooler if you could just win the tanks from and NPC quest or something that everyone can do =/
