I have noticed that other than at peak times, our average number of users floats at around 1800-2000, which is quite a bit lower than it used to be (2500++).

I'm kinda glad that they are doing this because like Icemage said I've noticed that our server population seems to be down from the pre Hades exodus days. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-07-2005, 09:37 AM | #6 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2002 Posts: 272 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 1 Time in 1 Post Gil: 1,560 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,560 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by Icemage Interesting that Midgardsormr seems to have depopulated. Icemage | Yeah its the same like that on Ragnarok, but wonder why they put Ragnarok for transfering out people, .
The only time i see Ragnaroks population exceed 2500 is when its JP time, and guess what when its not JP prime time, the 4000+ population drops to the low 2000s.
I think SE is just judging account usability within certain days, instead of actually checking how many people play the servers at given time frames. So ragnarok can have 6000 active user accounts, but not even half of that are online during the hours of non JP peak times. I have noticed a huge change in the amount of people we have. It is becoming more and more common to play with the same people over and over again. We usually had more than 2000 players on at all times, even during the transition from NA to JP time. Now, we have roughly 1500-1800... and it seems to be going down.
Now, here is my thought of why this would be happening ~ firstly, our economy is so freakin tweaked that you could need to buy a weapon that is lvl 41 and they will be out of stock... so you goto buy the lvl 42 weapon (only difference is 1 point of damage-SAME DELAY and No other effects) and it will go for 40k-100k more than the lvl 41 weapon. Its really weird and unexplained... but we are learning to work around it.
The other thing is that Crafting Prices for some of the most popular crafts are at an all time high. I do Bonecrafting and I am needing Beetle Jaws. Well I talked to my friend who is on Gilgamesh server and he said they range between 10k-15k a stack. On Midgardsormr... They range between 25-30k a stack. HUGE DIFFERENCE... JUST FOR BEETLE JAWS!
Now on the positive side of all this... the "Pay It Forward" act is in high effect. And for those of you who have never seen that movie, I HIGHLY recommend it -- but a simple explaination of it is as such: If you see someone shouting for help or having a hard time getting something... you help them out. Do not accept ANY reward at all, just tell them to help someone else out when they need help. So that person will later on see someone asking for help on *lets say* a mission. He/She will help on that mission and not accept any reward money or items, but will tell them to help the next person you see who needs help. AND SO ON AND SO FORTH. This act of friendship is at an all time high and has made Midgardsormr a server that you can rely on. Granted you will run into your *run of the mill* asshole... but dont hold a grudge against them, just ignore them and be on your way. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-07-2005, 10:00 AM | #9 (permalink) | | Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Posts: 504 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 2,737 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 2,737 Donate | Wow, wasn't midgard notorious for being -the- most (over?)populated server? Espicially considering that Ragnarok's migration will literally kill Midgard in my opinion.
Just after reading the info on main page, I overheard a LS... 5 people already planning to leave. This was like, 10min after the info was posted on the Main Page. I can only imagine how much HNM LS' and/or 75 people will migrate, because of Ragnaork's "HNM DRAMA" | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-07-2005, 11:52 AM | #14 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Location: Ontario, California US Posts: 186 Style: Dark - Version 5 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 4,528 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 4,528 Donate | I sooo wanted to leave Lakshmi. /cry

My LS has been camping Aspidochelone pretty regularly for the past 9 months, and have only gotten 2 Aspidochelone. There are typically 3 Japanese linkshells that dont have work, or school, and dont even goto sleep for that matter. The economy is pretty messed up too, we have gilsellers who camp Serket, Roc, Simurgh, Cassie etc, but we also have plenty of gilbuyers too. I wouldn't suggest moving to Hades if your eligible to.
