I noticed this with the mandys in Windy, but I notice it now with other animals.
This is amazing! What other mmorpg gives you that kind of AI? And such good looking! These mobs arent looking off into space - they are watching the fight! This is what puts Final Fantasy over the top compared to Everquest, Asheron's Call and what was that new one out? World of War something or other?

Yes but don't the Sheep AI eat grass or drink water, when they are near a pond or somethin, I remember hearing that long ago. Lions will chase and kill deer, cats will chase after rabbits. Although I'm sure I saw a rabbit chasing a cat a few days ago. Didn't look right.
Never seen anything like it in FF though. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-07-2005, 11:23 AM | #10 (permalink) | | Digital Wizard Super Moderator Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: Florida, USA Posts: 6,017 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 69 Thanked 465x in 306 Posts Gil: 2,931 Bank: 106,279 Total Gil: 109,210 Donate | You should see the Ul'hpemde in Al'taieu. They pop up from underwater, and come over to nuzzle you like cute puppydogs, then wander away after a while.

Animals would wind up eating each other and leaving nothing to level on.
For example in beta there used to be mandras roaming in Pashow, the Gobues used to eat them.
In Jugner tigers ate sheep, But due to that and something else, I forgot what it was they took it out.
in a way a real ecology can only work in a MMO if they do it like WoW's or add animals specifically for background effects like they did in AO(Anarchy Online). | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-07-2005, 01:12 PM | #12 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Posts: 282 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 4,025 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 4,025 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by StarvingArtist grass < sheep < tiger < Bloodtear Baldruf (゜∇゜) | I remember in NA beta I went afk, my whole party died because Bloodtear Baldruf spawned ontop of them, when I came back I was alive because they had pulled it so far away. I wont go into detail of what type of mob it is. But there is a certain kind of mob that will follow you around if you get near it. They lose interest after all, just really kinda nosey, but its funny. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
