The registery value is there, and correct, the Utility just doesn't recognize that it is there. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 05-05-2005, 05:39 PM | #19 (permalink) | | Made of Awesome Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Behind you. I've been in an e-mail tech support thing w/ Microsoft for the past few days now.

With luck, I'll get audio playback to work properly _without_ Managed DirectX in 0.6.0 - it's just too much of a pain. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 05-06-2005, 06:35 AM | #23 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Rockapulco Posts: 181 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 0 Thanked 2x in 2 Posts Gil: 2,556 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 2,556 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by GSDragoon Is it safe to assume that I have to install the Asian language files to see all the characters in the macro editor? I may look into including a good full-unicode font with POLUtils, but not really sure if it's worth it given that Windows has decent enough support these days. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 05-06-2005, 09:33 AM | #24 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2003 Location: Ohio Posts: 462 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 519 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 519 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by Pebbles I expect so - POLUtils assumes a unicode font.

What version of Windows are you using - I only have FFXI installed on XP, so I can only guarantee it works fine there. 2000 will probably be ok as well; NT/9x/Me might have issues I suppose. This page has zip files with windows fonts; if you don't have xp, try installing the XP fonts (or MS Sans Serif at least).
Maybe post a screenshot (use Alt+PrtSc to just include the POLUtils window and not the entire desktop). | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 05-07-2005, 11:45 AM | #26 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2003 Location: Ohio Posts: 462 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 519 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 519 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by Pebbles Darn - I stuck with MS Sans Serif specifically because it seemed to have the best Unicode support (more so than Lucida Sans Unicode, for example).

So maybe that's why. When I use the menu and go to choose which character to add, they don't all show up. But when I do select it, it then shows up in the text box. So maybe it's the Verdana font that it doesn't like. I'll trying another font now.
EDIT: tried the default VS and the Tahoma font worked fine. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 05-07-2005, 02:24 PM | #27 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Location: Rockapulco Posts: 181 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 0 Thanked 2x in 2 Posts Gil: 2,556 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 2,556 Donate | | Quote: | Originally posted by GSDragoon I'm running XP SP2. EDIT: tried the default VS and the Tahoma font worked fine. | Ahhhh - you meant the insert menu in the macro editor, not the POLUtils app itself. Yes, the menu's font is completely under Windows' control, so using a non-Unicode font can give trouble there. I plan to do away with the menu in the next version, and going for a dialog instead - that should make things look right even with custom settings for the menu fonts. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 06-16-2006, 01:57 PM | #28 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 1 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 126 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 126 Donate | Re: POLUtils 0.5.0 Released Hi everyone,
I saw this thread while trying to figure out the problem with the borked dotnetfx set up.
I don't even play FFXI, still I wanted to let you know, what did the trick for me:
Close Firefox, Start IE, download the file again, and run it.
Hope that helps
