I think people are always looking to perpetuate rumours -- how d'you think urban legends grow and survive? Someone hears a rumour that is, in all probability, not true, and then they say that it IS true and they've experienced it for themselves, and so more people begin to believe, etc etc.

In my opinion, if there really WAS a mob that spawned once every 100 days, someone would definitely have taken at least one screenshot by now. Until I see such a thing, I refuse to believe that the Fazasher Death Weapon exists, only because the conditions surrounding its spawning (once every 100 earth days? {Hmmm.}) are so absurd.
