I went to this site: http://www.geocities.jp/burumakun/souko.html and noticed that there are custom backgrounds. I downloaded the zip file for the old_ff one, but I don't understand what I need to do to "install" it. Any help would be appreciated! Also, would this be a violation of the ToS?

Ah-hah. I'm digging the buster sword and the schoolgirl outfit.. But Not so keen on the RDM mod. :-\ Sorry I can't really help on the custom backgrounds. I assume you're talking about the window mods?

if you read on the site he has a guide on how to install it and links to all the tools you need

All of the sub-pages (all other than index.html) are not displaying any of the Japanese properly, however it is displayed on the main page just fine. Therefore I'm having a bit of trouble with this, I have downloaded the necessary programs, but I can't figure out which DAT files I need to be looking in.

the files in the zip are named according to the dat files and lines to edit, im not at home now and cant look to make sure, going off memory right now...

Hrm, I can't do anything with FFXI tool 4. I execute it but it just opens to a blank window. I have tried using FFXI tool 1 as well, and it just opens then closes immediately.

Bump ^^ Any progress on this subject. I thought I had a link to a english version but apperently the guy took the site down. I think it was this: http://shadowslair.shadow-ffxi.com but I'm not 100% sure sence I have not checked that bookmark in a while and the site is now closed.
