Lol I knew someone would say that. It won't matter.. someone's going to do it anyway.

Oh about the "no minimize" thing I didn't know about, you can just map a sort of "starter" key for it.

I just thought of something else... EMAIL WORMS.

Not really beneficial... but if you add some destructive code you can make a filename long enough to cover the screen so it looks like mithra_screen_hot1.jpg. instead of mithra_screen_hot1.jpg.exe. They can probably run it through pol, or foward it to their hotmail address to see it. (hehe suckers). Thus attacking pol users by deleting their FFXI folder and forcing them to reinstall.

Holy crap, I'm stupid. That opens up even MORE possibilities.

By using 2 PCs sharing the same connection you can find what port they're using to directly connect to you.

Hmm... with direct connection you can probably do much more phreaking and find a hole in their servers. Like maybe during maintenance they'll neglect a certain port and you can gain access through there.

Unless they're stupid, they'll take the servers offline during maintenance. There isn't much you can do, besides attempting to packet edit, which I imagine will be very difficult considering the security measures Square have taken with the game. Well programmed games are impossible to packet edit unless you're a pshycic genius.

Yeah, and I suppose the port will be unprotected, accepting any data you send to it? Even programs I make aren't that shit.

You would have to be a noob to open up an email like that off someone u didnt know. Another thing , macros wouldnt last long either, as soon as they are found out they will be blocked in someway just like everything else will be.
I would be willing to tell square about bots and other stuff and im sure thousnads of other ppl would as well.
im not saying that bots wont exist im just saying they will never last long

Noobs are the ones to catch... it's fun that way.

About the "no bots" thing... not really... Square can't touch you if everything you're doing is client-side. Square controls server-side activity, but you control client-side stuff. The program will be pressing buttons on the keyboard, not actually hacking. It's a form of a cheat, not a hack, like ted mentioned... yet it's potentially as dangerous as a hack. Things like that, if not taken care of, mess up the whole community.

Potential problems with macros:
1) GM suspicion
2) Other players suspicion
3) Square makes a patch that changes monster AI and makes you have to rewrite your macro.

That's why I mentioned the whole "make it look real" parts so GM's or honest little brats won't go and report you. GM's are the main factors here, but Square can't stop you from running other programs while playing FFXI.

Bah, I hope it dosn't turn into EverCrack, were that one kid killed himself cause his level 59 something account got stolen. If i got my account stolen, i'd just talk to one of my friends hacker friends and see if they can steal it back. And if that dosn't work or isn't possible, cancel the credit card and get another account.

About your bots vissione, I don't think I would want to pay 10bucks a month then have a computer play for me.

I've never played Everquest but from the sound of it, you guys make it sound evil.

You're playing... it's just that when you're sleeping you can continue to level up. Hell...

Suppose you're forced to say all day at a family meeting. You can leave your PC on with the monitor off and it'll level up your character for maybe 15 hours! When you get back you'll accumulate a few levels maybe... especially if your macro is really good.

I doubt there will be any bots. It's not just something that "pushes buttons for you", it's much more complex than that. Anyone with enough skill to actually make one wouldn't waste their time on it, this isn't a simple game like RO or something.
