Party-Channel Text Window

Hello. I would like to ask a question:

If anyone knows the answer to this and be kind enough to post, I would appreciate it.

I've downloaded videos of Final Fantasy XI, in which the person's party channel text was saved in a second, expanded window as lots of battle-text flew by. This is similar to how NPC-talk that waits for you to click for the next line stays on your chatlog, even if the PCs around you scroll the text past the window by talking.

What I'm wondering is, is there a setting that I can flip on to activate this? (Windows). I checked the settings ingame, but nothing really jumped out at me. I probably overlooked it, but if anyone knows, could you please post a reply? It would help me out greatly.

The option you are referring to can be found under chat filters.

Change the option of the type of text you want to keep to "Hold" that will hold the last 3 lines of chat above the battle spam.

I keep LS tell and party on hold.
