This is actually all from CoP, if you pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION (it's quite easy to miss especially since a major part of it comes from the Snoll Tzar fight which most people just want to get over with). You also need to understand some of the terminology the game uses when talking about Celestial Avatars (they are commonly called "sleeping gods" in-game, hint hint). There is one small tidbit from ToAU however- the fact that the Dark Rider is always accompanied by two kindred (an imp and a demon) leads me to believe that he is the creator and commander of the kindred. See this thread for more info. The first post describes some terminology, a whole bunch of spoilers that explain everything are on page 3.

I know the celestial avatars are the slumbering gods, but there was no specific mentioning of Odin in that CS, and believe me I pay close attention. It was @ 4 AM mind you, so I may have missed something.

It's actually rather easy to know whom the celestial avatars are. They're all in the Vana'diel star chart as the main constellations.

As for the answers to many questions, if one pays close attention to the environment as well as the plot, many can be answered.

It should also be noted that the main plot affects all of the mini-plots in the game. Under certain conditions, cutscenes tend to change, even if it's only a tiny change in dialogue.

Example

Karaha-Baruha, driven by a lust for power, drained all of Fenrir's energy from Full Moon Fountain, causing a few events to occur later in the future:
-The Mindartia continent being slowly drained of its life energy; Full Moon Fountain is attempting to compensate for power lost.
-After Karaha-Baruha summoned Fenrir, thus "saving" Windurst, he vanished forever; possibly wiped from existence itself due to power overload. This is why now avatars ONLY grant us "a fragment" of their power.
-Summoning magic became forbidden not long after he performed it
-To awaken Fenrir, the whispers of six Celestial avatars are needed to give him adequate energy to take material form.

Regarding Alexander

On a side note, according to some research I've done, those Alzadaal ruins are probably all pieces of Alexander or something.
