cracked BCNM orbs

I noticed after a BCNM battle, the original orb stays in your inventory. However the orb is no longer functional as its "cracked". Is there any use for this orb, or is it just junk to be thrown out?

Good question. Has anyone tried trading the cracked orb back to the NPC that sells them?

they are useless toss them, if u trade it back to NPC he tosses it for you. Face it you lost lost XX seals.

I've heard if you trade them back to the NPC you got them from it improves your Jeuno fame, but I have seen no evidence to support that. It may just be speculation, but it doesn't hurt to try.

That's what I heard, is that it gives you fame if you return them. I haven't seen any test on it to indicate right or wrong. But it's easy enough to just return the orbs, so why not?
