yeah yeah use search....... You know what LawDawg, you need to learn how to be nicer to people, try answering the question and not being a jerk! Bagon it is best to start with composit rod and insect paist, and fish in any fresh water locations, I would start in town ^.^

Well see...thats confusing for me, since i used Comp Fishing Rod and insect paste at lvl 10 in Rabao, i cant get any fish at all, all i got was a .2 skillup and something telling me that the fish is too small to be caught by my rod..-_- Then i tried gettin a sabiki rig and i dumped it and the comp in buburimu and well...all i got all the time was a monster...what gives? O.o Ppl keep saying how good comp rod is because it never breaks, but i cant seem to get anything...

Someone suggested I start out with a Carbon Rod and Sibiki Rig in Selbina. Its working much better than Bamboo + Small Worm in starting cities fresh water. That is what I was told to do before. I catch stuff more often, get more skillups and I was told Carbon shouldn't get that "too small" message. Thing is I don't catch moat carp. So the money will likely be less. And the skill up should be good until level 12 or so. I am using full fishing gear and try to fish on a full or new moon. I'll see if my new spot works well when its not. |

I personally think that because Selbina is salt water and not freshwater where moat carp are fished out

I am not sure on this, but i think the FastWater rod is mainly for the boat use where composite might break. Fastwater around windurst never seeemed to work that well. What did you get anyway?

fastwater in windurst with sabiki rig works out awesome for me and it works good on the boat but then theres a risk of it breaking sometimes i just ride the boat back and forth fishing but i mostly stay in windurst to fish all you get is stacks of sardines and quus but they add up fast my friend made like 20K maybe or 10K fishing in windurst with that equipment just empty out your inventory and let the line fly |

OK here is the thing about low level fishing... Yes for may its a "secret" but SE already nerfed this 2 times and I doubt it's gona happen again. In lower level fishing what you really want to get are rusty caps. You can get them with a composite rod and rouge rig in Rabao. You then either have to have a smithing skill (or have a firend or LS mate) of about 30. Take the caps and synth them with a light crystal to make padded caps. With light clusters going for about 6.5K on my server and hero fame, you make aout 24K per 12 caps selling to NPC's.. that's it. As you get higher, the fish that you catch will eventually be worth more, but that is months and months of fishing.

To raise low level skill (which is all that I'm at.. :/), I use a Glass Fiber Rod (It's either that or carbon, I haven't fished in awhile), and a sabiki rig and fish in port windurst. It works well imo.
