Alienware Area-51 Notebook
Hello guys,

I am making this post to get feedback from anyone that has purchased an Alienware Area-51 Notebook.

The specs:

Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.4 GHZ
1GB RAM
Ati Radeon 9700

To anyone that has this system, or any Alienware system, how does FFXI run on it?

In addition, to anyone that has Dell XPS Notebook, how would you rate it?

Thanks in advance. Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

-Tom

You'd have to figure that it would suck batteries faster than... well, I can't think of an acceptable analogy - but since most ppl plug into a wall outlet anyhow...

The only thing I would think about is whether you really want to drop that kind of cash on something you can't upgrade.

i have a dell inspiron xps
has the same specs as yours

you can run it at max settings without experiencing lag. you can even do the graphical tweaks to max without slowing your laptop

between alienware and dell, if you got the extra cash. go with the alienware. the upgradable graphics feature is really good. if youre goin budget and not for the upgradable graphic slot, then stick with dell.

and these machines arent really portable. you always have them plugged-in. these machines are more of a desktop replament than a portable device

Alienware is a name, they make good computers but don't deserve the hype and or money most people give them. Check around before spending the big bucks

Last two computers I've used ABSPC.com. They're pretty good. Can configure your own system or configure one of their preset ones.
