Switching Content IDs to a different account

My roommate and I have been playing on the same computer for the past two months. We share a content ID each on the same account. We're finally getting another computer and now I'm planning on getting my own account.

How do I switch my content ID from the old, shared account to my new account? Is this even possible?

My Mood:
if both accounts are under the same name, you might be able to convince cust support to do it for you. b4 you go buying the new copy though, i'd ask them first if it's possible.

i can tell u this much; there's no way u can do that from POL viewer nor within ffxi. there's no given option.

i know a friend of mine who deleted a character for pretty much the same case, and started out new. he was lvl 30 or so at that time.

if it's systematically possible at all, then the only one who can possibly do that would be s-e's support (among ones u can get contact w/), like neighbortaru suggested. but my guess is it's highly unlikely. either way, u'd have to buy a new copy for both of u to play simultaneously.

Do you both want to carry on playing at the same time?, if so the answers NO, but if you want to access your old char from time to time on from your POL viewer then that is possible through the "add member" option, but of course if you are logged on to your char and your friend tries to log on he will not be able to.

I called POL support re this and they told me there was no way they were splitting my chars and putting them on seperate account for me

sorry to say this man, but if the support told her this, i'd say it's 99.9% impossible in ur case, either. (not 100 coz maybe possible if u got a friend at s-e.)

keep the current way, or either u or ur roommate gotta make a fresh start.

I find this funny why they couldn't do this? Characters are server side.... just switch them over. I mean wouldn't it make sense to do this, 1 buck vs 12 bucks?

I say its possible, but maybe they do it for security reasons.

Email them and tell them your situation, your purchasing a new account which means more money for them so im sure they would be happy to do that for you.
