Starting job

When I get the game, I want to be a Dark Knight/Thief, my question is: what should I start off as? Warrior, thief, or black mage?

I'd say start as a Thief. Though it's easier to do the DRK quest as a high-level Warrior, it should only take a little longer as a low-level one. And besides, after that, as you raise your DRK levels, you don't have to level up Thief again until Lv. 60.

You will want too start out as a warrior because you will need to do a mission to be a Dark Knight.And a warrior is the only class to do the Dark Knight mission.Hope you understand

can't you just take the job warrior to make the mission and then kill 100 enemies as lvl 1 warrior and then return and complete the quest and get rid of the warrior job ?

You have to kill 100 enemies with a specific sword. What if you have to be like level 15 to use that sword? And warrior is the only one who can use it I think.

It is true that you must be a Warrior, but IIRC, it's a Level 1 Sword.

I say start as a warrior cause later on your gonna need warrior sub when you are pting. Oh and you can't do the job as a lvl 1 Warrior... You have to be at least level 30 to do the advanced job quests.

I'd probably go with Thief as a starting job, or a Monk.

It's my goal to be a gun-toting Tarutaru ranger so I figure i'm gonna need some money for guns and bullets

My opinions is that you should go wit ha warrior at some point. MAybe a thief/warrior. This is because you will get your weapon skills for big swords up which will help you start off. Second, warriors and dark knights probably have similair/same armor that you could use for both jobs.

But you can like get your thief to level 30, then go get the sword, then switch to warrior and kill 100 enemies right?

Actually you can, it has been done and you can kill 100 noob monsters. No one said they had to be powerful.
