Yeah I'm one of Raj's friends that keeps wondering how he keeps getting invites while the rest of us don't >_< I mean, I'm a cappable Thief, people love my damage >_>, but like today, I didn't get a single invite in Kazham T_T. Yesterday, I decided to leave cause I'd gimp the exp for the rest of the PT, and the whole night I didn't get another invite

It has nothing to do with you, and all to do with your job. Any good group 30+ needs a Thief. Unknown to the NA community, Thiefs are as important and needed as whitemages are. Next time a japanese group invites you, check to see if there are any thiefs in your lvl range seeking party, chances are, they asked you cause they really had no choice and lack of options. The only people who getinto Japanese groups are those with these following jobs which are posted in no particular order

Whitemage
Thief
Bard
Pld
Blm

Real Response:

1. Skip XP hunting for a day or two and go socialize.
2. Skip XP hunting for a day and do some quests in town.
3. Make sure your search comment has something in it. "xx THF seeking XP. Will play with JP/NA parties. Will Sneak Attack for Food. Waga-hai wa hentai de aru." You know, something like that.
4. Spend some time teaching other people how to party correctly.

Question:

How many friends do you have on the server and if the number approaches 6, why don't you just play together?

When StoneCold was talking about his friend only getting into poor NA PTs, I think he was refering to me. Its amazing the people I meet. A few days ago, I got invited into a PT, and b/c I rarely get invited, I go with it and join up. Any exp is better than none right? WRONG! I ended up losing 1k exp in that PT. And within 15 minutes of joining, I died two times! I was a DRK and apparently, the only tanker...

And before that, i was in a PT that seemed good. 1 War/Mnk, 1 War/Thf, 1 Blm/Whm, 1 Whm/Blm, 1 Rdm/whm, and myself a Drk/War. Well as chance would have it, we were in the tower on Qufim and NONE of the Wars would provoke! Again, I was tanking. But this was at lvl 25, so I guess it was okay. I never used Last Resort anyways, so no biggie there. After about 4-5 battles, in which the Whm had to zone out during 3 of the battles, the Party Leader(the Rdm) got so fed up with the Party, that he disbanded. I dont blame him either, b/c I was the only one provoking, and well, I cant really provoke it every 10 seconds. To sum it all up, the Wars never provoked. The mages were very mad, and myself very sad. The War/Mnk even messaged me about 3 minutes after the disbandment, and said, "Wow. I am lucky to have survived that Party." OF COURSE HE WAS GOING TO SURVIVE! HE NEVER PROVOKED!(not to mention he did horrible dmg with his Royal Archer Sword).

And those are the kind of parties I get invited to when I am lucky. Most of the time, I dont even get invited. And so I take whatever PT I can find. Even the horrible ones...After all, some exp is better than none......right?

Even at level 18 it was hard to find parties in Qufim. I sat there the first night waiting for invite (WAR 18/MNK 10). I decided to give up and try again the next day. So the next day, i threw up the party flag again and no invite. So i decided to just run a Find Members and low and behold, there were around 10 people looking for pt. Quickly i rounded up the WHM, 2 THF, BLM, and another WAR. It was a mixed party of JP and NA players.The exp started to roll in pretty damn good. Got from 18-23 in about 10 hours of gameplay.

Tell them to start provoking or you're leaving the party. Leave if they don't do it. Seriously.

It's not okay. You shouldn't be the one tanking. Leave that for WAR's and PLD's to do. You're a damage dealer, not a damage taker.

Not a good excuse to be in a poor party. I'd rather solo the dunes to get the same EXP you probably made in the same amount of time.

Relax, you'll find a good party. My best advice is when you DO find a good party, if they're in a linkshell (colored icon next to their name) ask them if you could join their linkshell. It couldn't hurt. Linkshells are one of the best ways I've found to make good parties.
