Altana is the Godess of Good and Light (if i recall correctly her titles).

Altana is most probably also the last boss in the last expansion pack Square-Enix will make. She will become corrupt and want to destroy everyone. I have a good feeling on that one.

She might even be evil as we speak, because in all the Final Fantasy games religion as always been evil (which is also my opinion btw).

She has a shrine in the starting towns too. North Sandoria's Cathedral, Bastok Metalwork's basement, and Windurst Heaven's Tower, not too sure about last one though..

As such I also think that Promathia will be the last boss... unless you can already fight him in one of the current missions (I don't know, I'm only rank 2 ).

Anyway, Altana is the goddess who created the five player races of Vana'diel... so we should all worship her in thanks.

Given the fact most NPC's reference Altana, I am quite surprised anyone aside from ones who just started wouldn't know who she is.

You need crazy cultists for Altana to be evil though, the elvaan just sorta sit around and pray. Even then, they're more likely to talk to beastmen than kill them on sight (which is what everyone else does)

Actually, judging by common NPC conversation, the Elvaan are the least tolerant of Beastmen, even pondering why the Windurstians even try to have their shaky peace with the Yagudo.

San-ians are by far the most hateful toward beastmen, and other races in general. All I ever hear the military NPCs say is 'Bastok just lets those quadav live in their mines, why, I'd go out and give them a right knock on the noggin.' and 'Yagudo?! POPPYCOKC!!1'

Everyone but like half of the Windurst Taru hate the beastmen. The mithra don't like them either, just those Taru.

But I mean, how can a Taru hate something. It's like impossible.

yea i kinda had a feeling on this one too...but what do i know i'm only rank 2 :sweat: rank 3 as soon as i can beat that damn dragon. only level 14 right now ;x lol

Ive been playing since november, and outside of reading the owner's manual (does anyone do that these days?) I haven't seen that many in-game references to Altana. Im only Rank 4 tho w/ decent fame in Norg & Bastok and working on Windy. I remembered people posting about Fame 9 where someone quotes the goddess Altana and im like hey that name sounds familiar...

But its not like Altana plays any major role early on and since few people roleplay (roleplayers are usually much more familiar w/ there surroundings) so ya I can understand why it wouldn't be uncommon for people to question who.

you can really tell how much the taru want peace with the beastmen and how much the elvann hate.....everyone. i remember the guy in san who tells you the mission objective (im bastokian) wouldnt stop insulting me right in front of me. i mean my urge for fried elvann went through the roof (and i could actually acomplish that being a red mage).

I dont know about all that now....if you complete Bastok mission 9 (i think its 9) you see the story about how the Bastokians destoryed a bunch of Quadavs in thier home in Palbourough and killed the ones in a nursery....killing baby quadavs in thier eggs still is ruthless. I think thats pretty hateful.
