oOoOoOo... Chinese.... I can't read Chinese. But I can read Japanese, and the monster at the top of the page is saying "Go Buu." This useless spam was brought to you by Buu. Oh... for anyone who wants a crude translation: babelfish.altavista.com

Very nicely done. If I might ask though, was there a direct reason behind creating the list entirely out of solid graphics? I would humbly suggest that you would be more content over time if you were to move to a standard text based format. You would only need to use the graphic icon for the item itself, thus allowing you to reduce the bandwidth greatly, and using only one graphic for all those items with duplicate icons. If you are at all limited on bandwidth, or pay for bandwidth used, I would suggest taking the site down until that change is made. Each section of that seems to be nearly 200k, just the hits from this site will push you over 1GB probably before the end of the weekend. Of course, if you have unlimited, unmetered bandwidth, I am fairly sure anyone accessing your site via a modem must be crying. ^^ Edit: Additionally, your compression scheme is very, very low. If you reduce it you'll be able to keep near the same quality and cut the file size by 80% with little problem. If you lack powerful graphics editor, you can use window's paint to convert it from .jpg back to .bmp the again to .jpg for at least 30% reduction in file size with no noticable loss. |
