PSSS - Start of thread AGAIN!!!!!!

I disagree with the PS2 beta testers not getting a copy of ffxi for free..It was stated that we would be getting a retail version of the HDD and also stated that ffxi the game along with other things will be loaded on it. So that is why the PS2 version cost about 99 dollars!!!!!!!!!

I was told that the User Agreement was the source that had most authority. I was told the email from Sony stating we only need return the HDD and nothing else was drafted before the amendment to the Beta User Agreement, and changes to said agreement overruled and other statements.

I intend to send back all Beta materials I recieved, good luck to those who are sending back less.
Hmm, I kept the very very back page of the beta user guide (the one with the reg. codes) because I thought I might need them to port over my info (which it turns out we wont be able to do )

The page was perferated and it said "detach here" so I assume I will not be penalized for keeping that. It was intended to be kept.

Well you dont have to doubt anything because in the letter us PS2 beta testers recieve it says that they will send us a Retail HDD which includes the retail version of FFXI along with other gaming related things. see for your self:

"Hello FINAL FANTASY XI beta tester,

The FINAL FANTASY XI beta test has officially ended. This is the final
notice to request that you return the beta HDD that you are using. We
sincerely hope you have enjoyed being a part of this beta test. To thank
you we are going to send you the retail version of FINAL FANTASY XI and
an HDD with additional gaming content when you return the beta HDD
you are currently using.

In order to receive the retail version of FINAL FANTASY XI and the HDD
prior to or on the release date of the game, we require that you return
the beta HDD by OCTOBER 28, 2003. Please note that we are aiming to
ship items one week prior to FINAL FANTASY XI's release date.
Information related to shipping or tracking of items will not be
available until then."

there ya go.

I HAVE THE ENVELOPE!
Yes, the one envelope that will decide your fates. Well, i called SCEA and they said that we should only send back the HDD, but when i told them about the new agreement he was like "Oh shit really? Then you should follow the newest news." SO... i guess we HAVE to ship back all the stuff, not only the HDD. And since i'm 13, i'm surprised he didn't start asking questions. They also sent me a new return label like 2 times, (i lose them alot , my room is OcEaNiC HeLL.) Now if you're wondering what oceanic hell is, it's a long story. So i'll tell you all about it right now. When you die, you go to either Caramel Hell, Firey Hell or Oceanic Hell. No, there is no heaven. How you get to firey hell, is by being a pyromaniac, to get to caramel hell howhever, you HAVE to have an inevitable addiction to everything caramel. And, last but not least, is oceanic hell. If you don't fit into either one of those categories, you go to oceanic hell. And let me tell you, that place is so populated it's not even funny. So i reccomend you either turn pyromaniacle or get an addiction to caramel real quick. Err, Bottom line ; you gotta send in all the stuff, not only the HDD.

My two cents one the HDD release, its a milliuon reasons for all you know the EQ thing sounds good but so does the one where they are not ready who knows hwo cares, we get them around march T.T

NOW onto the what we send back, i called S-E support 2 days ago, they said EVERYTHING that came in it, if you kept something dont expect to get a free HDD because you broke S-E user agreement. Now as for sony saying no im gonna call them tomarrow just to make 100% sure because we are sending the stuff to sony, why would they want a useless game cartridge or instruction manuals, ill post on that tomarrow.

Now onto the PS2 carryover of our handles, YES WE CAN, there are 2 choices, buy windows version and use that until PS2 releases and you get your HDD and switch back, this was confirmed by the lead person on the support team at S-E. Option 2 activate your Handle before Jan31st and just pay for a month of Feb and whatever else you missed till you get your HDD. Yeah its stupid why not get Windows version and switch back in March its taht simple.

But for not sending your stuff back again, i also wanted to keep my game cartridge and manual just as proof i had it, i have proof of all betas i have been in that sent you CDs. Why they want it back is dumb its no use to them, i wish we could keep it but if it means not geting my free HDD i will send it back.

I called the Beta help line yetserday, just to be sure, and they only want the HDD and the HDD utility Disc. And if you want to change the return adress, just attach a peice of paper saying the address to send it to.
