I feel sorry for the guys and gals who are waiting for FFXI in their PS2's they pushed the schedule back to MARCH

If this is true i really have no interest in buying this game...

Reasons?

I do have any interest in buying a game thats been so ludicrously schedualed and will most likely be obsolete by the time or soon after it is released... its 2 years old already....

The Final Fantasy Franchise is meant for console gaming and yet the PC port comes out before the PS2 Version does how interesting...SE has not only been negligent with their release dates but had some bad communication with sony aswell....if i were them i would drop sonys stupid bum and hook up with nintendo or microsoft because sony is so stupidly slow at everything they do...i do understand thats unlikely do to technilogical reasons of the ps2 being far superior to those other peices of trash but meh....

Im going to instead look further at EQ2 and other such next generation MMORPGS. Square is obviously a moron at these types of games when i hear they are gunna charge 75 cents per additional character...respectable MMORPG makers give you like 8 character slots atleast....im truley dissapointed in square for the first time and its going to loose them a sale i understand my 99$ wont really matter but im sure alot of other PS2 gamers will be upset if this is true....Im going to instead buy ffx2 when it comes out hopefully it wont be a blunder like this is.......

But of course if this is false information all previous statements will be withdrawn =)

I don't know if I will still wait for the PS2, damn I'm going for PC, it will come out this October 28 right. I hope it won't change.:angel:

yeah. This really really makes no sense to me. I understand, sure, final fantasy xi is a new game, and it's not like the other games. But it's still a FINAL FANTASY GAME, it's fanbase is on the console. Sony and square both have not been taking this release seriously I think. Not only does it suck that PC is getting it first, because most PC gamers are used to their own MMORPG franchises, and always prefer games like evercrap, and dark age of camelot. They see a final fantasy title, and some of em think "oh it's just a stupid rpg series for console gamers" And they release it on PC first, and like 5 months later on console where it's fanbase is??

Secondly, square and sony have seriously delayed this release enough! Have they totally forgetten that the final fantasy series is more popular in america than it is in japan?! Why do they not reconize this?? Some other companys do. Hideo Kojima, and Konami reconize that the metal gear solid fanbase is bigger in america than it is in japan, so they release those games in america first. It doesnt matter if the game is made in japan or not, sell it to the people who want it more and where you'll get more sales. Geez.

You have to understand that Square Enix is not in control of the actions of Sony. The HDD is what has set the release date behind, and looking at the amazing features that are in the HDD, I'm not complaining at all. Yes, it's been a long wait, but trust me, it is worth it. You can play EQ2 all you want, it's still EQ, and it'll still suck. Yes FFXI is going on 2 years old, but the english version is a diffrent game, with diffrent coding, and other added features that the japanese version will not have.

Also, if you have ever tried to reprogram a Japanese HD into a American computer, you'll understand the problem that has kept the HDD on hold. The HDD that beta testers have gotten is techincally the true 'beta', and also does not feature even a forth of the features that are in the final version. I play the import on PC, and it's unlike anything I have played. I love every moment of it, and if you are not going to play because of a simple release date being longer then you like, maybe you should go play EQ.

Two years doesn't make a game obsolete. Saying that is just dumb. I know MMORPGS are different, buy really two years is all it takes to make a game of this scope and magnitude obsolete? I'm sure Square has plenty of new ideas to add that'll keep it semi-fresh. I've played Ashernon's(sp) Call 2, Everquest, and Everquest Online Adventures, and a few others, and none of them really offered that much new to the genre that wasn't already being done or hadn't already been done.

When I first heard of FFXI I was saying things like FF doesn't belong online. But after seeing what they've been able to do with the game thus far I can see that Square, at least, knows enough about what they're doing to make a good game. I haven't played the game, but based on what I've read and seen, I pretty sure that what I'm saying is a valid opinion.

I have to disagree with that one... we have everything English beta has.. when your servers go down for a update.. Our servers go down for a update too

btw.. dont blame Square on what Sony is doing with the HDD.. Square has no control over what Sony does with the release of the HDD.. the game wont work with out a HDD on the PS2.. so thats the problem.. I'll say this again.. Square has no control or say in the matter... which sucks if you ask me >.>

For christmas get a new computer or get the money to upgrade to one then get ur PC verison around Jan the same time the ps2 WAS suppose to come -_-

I think SquareEnix can go to .....! This is so stupid that they release the game on Pc b4 Ps2! Final always been on ps2 why Pc 1st?
I was thinking about Ps2 1st and i go with Pc!
I know lot have change their mind and decided to go with Pc!

Too bad for Sony they wont sell they @$%@#$ HDD as much if most of people go on Pc!!

If they sole money good that might show them that the fan are sick of waiting for a game that beed out in Japan 4 a while and the only thing mission is the HDD

Yeah, I just read this over at RPG Fan a few minutes ago, and decided to see if there was any threads about it on here, and to see a bunch of posts from pissed off people.

Though, I haven't really, so yippidee.

I have no feelings about this really, as I have only been interested in the PC one since I heard it was coming for PC. I prefer a mouse and keyboard over a PS2 controller. Also, i wasn't going out to buy the game + HDD + a keyboard + whatever else I need for the PS2. Also, I just read yesterday that it runs slower because of some PS2 memory thingy, so that just adds to it

Though I do feel bad for those that were waiting for PS2 version..

it got me thinking about the release of PS2 version of FFXI, sorry if i'm giving PS2 beta people a hard time.

Just think of the FREE HDD that will be given to the PS2 Beta people and has the FFXI game with it. What if they just gave you a brochure to pick up your HDD with game with it in this store or that store in MARCH that will be awful eh!:mad:

I'm sorry to say, but.. where do you get this from? That is far from the truth. FF series is NOT more popular in the US than in Japan, perhaps you meant to say MMORPGs, then you just MAY have a point.
