Is there anyway to increase the background rez past 1024x1024?

I just got a new monitor and I'm running the game in 1280x1024 and it doesn't look that great, now the highest background rez I choose is 1024x1024 is there anyway I can up this.... if not I'll just play at 1024x768.

It depends on your video card, I can go to 1600x1200 without doing anything special.

yeah well so can I, its not the game rez I'm talking about its the background rez in the FFXI config file, ex.(256x256) (512x512), (1024x1024)

I just got a new monitor and when I play the game in 1280x1024 the graphics don't look as sharp, so I thought it had to do with the background resolution.

Not the overlay graphics resolution.

you mean texture resolution.

it largely depends on the speed and memory of the vidcard.

however, it's possible Square decided to limit it to 1024 instead of 2048 (current highest)...
