EU players question

I refered to this server because it seemed like one of the newer servers so hopefully not too over populated and was mentoned there were quite a few EU players (or at least similar timezones to EU). im about to start playing ffxi with a friend and was wondering if this server would be welcoming and adequate enough for UK players ? eg. finding parties throughout the game (beginning - end) Socialising etc
