S-E could ban all those accounts tomorrow without requiring any shred of proof and the players would have no recourse as they agree to that every time they log in. It's not real life, we're not disputing the ethics of sending people to the chair on the basis you might execute an innocent. It's a gaming environment where certain players monopolise content and ruin the enjoyment of the majority at the cost of the minority. I trust S-E would be savvy enough to provide some kind of appeal process in the event of a queried ban anyway.

no I have a problem with people takeing matters into their opwn hands, and doing somethign stupid. you see a "gilseller" you cant be 100% they are a seller unless you ask then and they say yes, then you call a GM and politly tell the GM (none of this OMG chiness RMT over here) that you think so and so is cheating, or is an RMT and let the GM take care of it, this is all you can and should do, it is what GMs are for
The thing is, this dosn't work. People have gotten Temp. Bans for doing this, because the GMs say they are asking the RMT to buy gil from them. And then they don't even send the RMT into goal.

SE serriously needs to keep closer tabs on their GMs, I think some are getting a paycheck from IGE.

Quite right. From what I've read on the subject, it's kinda like on "Law & Order" when they plant someone in a restaurant with the suspect and wiretap the bowl of fruit on the table, and the plant has to get a confession out of the perp without crossing a delicate invisible legal line beyond which the confession is going to be tainted and thrown out by the judge. That sort of thing.

I've also heard that if they come out and admit they're RMT without any provocation from one of us, THEN they could be banned. GL finding one stupid enough to do that.

Re: RMT Hunting
You know, they have access to all player information and actions in game. They can see player X meet player Y and give him 50 mil and then move on and give player Z another 20 mil ad infinitum. They could even go to a gilselling site and arrange to meet a seller ingame to get 100% confirmation. They choose not to and the same old sellers still run amok. I really think, despite what S-E preaches, they don't want to solve the RMT issue. Their actions are in direct opposition to their statements.

Also, to those who would cite the fact 300-400 accounts were banned that's really a drop in the ocean and I'd question who they banned because I experienced three such banning actions while I played that I can recall and still saw the same RMT ply their trade daily. When nothing decisive is done about RMT and the game made harder and clumsier for legit players through the implentation of things like a gil sending limit then it's no wonder some factions of players will resort to taking their own actions. While I don't condone it I can fully understand it.

Re: RMT Hunting
I just don't see what is so amusing about them posting a job listing for bilingual GMs. They are about to release French and German clients, so it would make sense to hire GMs that can speak and understand those languages.

The funny part is if they hire players who hate the gil sellers...

LOL Someone I know said something similar to that when he got aggro'd by a Fomor Bard.

"A monster!? D: I thought it was a player."

Anyway, the idea is kind of cool I guess, but I doubt it will really stop them tbh.. lol.

Ahh but if he had made a new post someone else would yell at him for not using the Search function. Then again using the search function means he's necroposting I don't think he could really win on this one ^^.

Re: RMT Hunting
Well if he'd had something really important to add, a new thread or a necropost would have been fine.
