New User trying 14 day trial - trouble w/updates

I'm trying to install all the updates so that I can try the 14 day trial. I get to step two no problem, but then around %4 it stops and holds an error message about the connection being interrupted. And then I have to start all over again! I can find no problem with my internet connection.

Anyone have some insight for me?

It happened again. It reached %8. error code POL-0250.

Any advice? Please?

Go to the POL FFXI site, look up what ports need to be opened and input those into your router, only thing I can think of this time of night that might be causing this to happen.

Did you do a search via Google for POL-0250? I did and I got the above answers. It may not work for you but its worth a try.

It seems this is a rare error so I'd look at your computer and check it for issues (virus & spyware scans).

Oh yea, if you're running Vista, make sure POL is set to "Run As Administrator". Shit causes way too many errors sometimes.
