FFXI Updater Question

I installed POL, and FFXI base, I can't find my disks for my expansions (all the way up to wings of the goddess) but my playonline account should have them registered and what not... Sooo, with all that said, when I click on play after just installing the base install, will it automatically download the missing xpacs in the updating, or will it not even recognize the fact that my account has access to all of it?

nope, it will update your core FFXI with ALOT of stuff, but you wont have access to anything but the core FFXI, I would not even update yet, untill you get them installed, because you will have to update again.

If you really do have your reg keys activated on your account already, then just get ISOs of the disks off the internet, its not hard to find the 08 collection out there in one nice DVD ISO file. I cant tell ya where though *cough* google *cough*

Re: FFXI Updater Question

Yeah, I had looked around for a few iso's, but they were all torrents, and I'm not a huge torrent fan.

Re: FFXI Updater Question

Torrents are reliable though. It's about the only way those of us with disk images of this game want to distribute them, because then we don't have to handle all of the upload ourselves. There's nothing wrong with using torrents to grab a file so large. It's usually more efficient that a direct download, and there aren't any free non-torrent downloads I know of, since SE doesn't provide them.
