Exclamation Problems Updating FFXI

HI, i recently purchased a 2008 collection of FFXI, now ive installed everything and of course when i go to play FFXI it needs to update. Now it checks all the files and gets to the downloading part, and every time it kinda freezes on me, its stuck at:

Downloading 41.DAT (95%)
Files remaining 6457/6457

How do i fix this problem?

Thanks,

EDIT: You should know, im using a Radeon X1650 Pro card, Windows Vista, 1GB RAM, and a Mobile Broadband internet connection (which i think is pathetic, though i do have home broadband being delivered).
