Unable to renew subscription post update

I have no idea where to post this since it's not really a tweaking question but I guess it's the closest description to my problem I've been having a lot of trouble with renewing my subscription for FFXI. To sum it up i've been completely unable to access any of the Content ID sections of POL after the mini update to POL about a week or two ago. What happens is if i click on any of the sections to the Content ID page absolutely nothing will happen for a full five minutes and then i will get a timeout error and will be sent back to the Content ID section. I have no idea what is causing this. I originally thought my firewall or antivirus would be interfering with POL somehow so i tried it with both disabled and nothing happened. I uninstalled them both and nothing happened. I reinstalled FFXI and spent all of today leaving my laptop on to download updates and after getting back from a 12hour shift of dewm...Nothing happened.

So I tried it on my laptop with Vista (FFXI on Vista = Bad idea i know but a Vista laptop is the only way I can play FFXI while at college) and instead of the timeout error I get a message saying that the content can;t be displayed and I get booted out to the POL main menu. I've scanned my PC and laptop literally hundreds of times over the weekend and found no viruses, spyware, keyloggers or the smart.dll of doom on neither my PC or laptop. I must have tried hundreds of different router configurations and I still get the connection timeout error.

Honestly I have no idea what's causing this problem. I've tried contacting SE but I live in the UK and we all know how much Japanese video games publishers hate Europe. I've been on hold for about an hour and 45 minutes now on a premium rate call so I doubt I can stay ON the line for any longer and not piss off my dad.

Honestly I'm tempted to drop the £30 ($60) on the 360 version of the 2008 Edition. Knowing the reliability 360 it will take until next month to download all the updates but it's the only thing I haven't tried yet. I can only access my 360 when at home but if I can extend contracts with that then it will be fine.

I have noticed that i was able to access all Content ID sections before the last POL mini-update but since then I've been totally unable to without getting some form of error. Has anyone else been having thing problem? Or is it just my bad luck causing this?

Oh and sorry for the big wall o text post. It honestly didn't look that big on my laptop screen

Edit: And stupid noscript blocking formatting in posts. Now it should be less wall of texty

Sorry about the double post but it's an interesting update:

I'm also unable to access the membership page so I can't change my password or my card details. I have also tried to get online using a friend's 360 but he already has an POL account linked to his tag so I wasn't able to sign in.

I've spoken to my ISP incase it was my connection. I finally managed to contact SE this morning and they blamed my ISP. My ISP BT (British Telecom or as me and my Dad like to call it "Bull S***") blamed the application after performing a connection test and finding out there was nothing wrong. I contacted SE again and they hardly seemed to give a damn since i won't be able to give them my money any more.

Honestly I'm more or less completely out of ideas and my contract will expire in 10 hours so I won't be able to play at all. I don't want to drop £30 (about $60) on the 360 version of the 2008 Edition only to find out that that won't work either. Would that actually work or am I just stuck like this?
