Hi everyone.

I used to play on the PS2 but have long since moved to the pc. I missed running around with the good 'ol dual shock, so I bought a "pu203" psx/usb adapter. The adapter is absolute trash; future reference for you all.

I picked up a "game-elements GGE909" gamepad this morning. It works perfectly fine, and I could not be more pleased save for one oddity. The right joystick 3rd-person camera control axes are switched. Left<- moves the camera Up, vice versa. Up^ moves the camera right, vice versa.

Is there some way to configure the camera so that Up::Up, Left::Left, etc? I suppose I'll just try to adjust otherwise.

Did you try

Start Button > Programs > Playonline > FFXI Config > General Tab > Gamepad Settings

There you can adjust your settings for your gamepad to what you are comfortable with. Make sure to use the Test Gamepad button to make sure you have it set up the way you want it.

Yes, I tried the gamepad settings under the config. The right joystick works normally when pressing the 'camera' button under 'directional control devices', and works normally when using 'test gamepad'.

I don't understand why the horizontal and vertical axes swap in game.

In the game, go to the config menu and it should be camera settings or something. Change the horizontal and vertical axes to fit your preferences.
