You can save your macros to the POL servers and recall them onto another machine. Or does that only apply same platform accounts as opposed to jumping from platform to platform? | |

No actually the last time they adjusted it they made it cross-platform, it's really nice. I saved my g/f's macros from her PS2 so that I could edit them on the laptop for her, then was able to save them on laptop and reload them to PS2. Of course they added that feature 2 weeks after my first 360 died and I spent 3+ hours remaking macros, lol.

I generally find it works best if you have a background resolution that's slightly higher than the maximum of your overlay, or if you have MIP mapping turned on, significantly higher (your character will look out of focus and grainy otherwise).

Well I changed the values in the registry to higher values, and now FFXI won't launch, lol. Edit: Ok, not sure what I broke, but I fixed it lol.

Yeah I exported a backup before I started tinkering around in there. The game wouldn't launch when I tried 2x oversampling, and the FPS was a bit low when I tried 1.5, so I just went with 1x. It looks much less awkward now that the overlay/background resolution fit the widescreen.

Hmm really? After I read that guide, I oversampled my background resolution by 2x. My FPS didn't take much a hit or anything, but the onscreen text (damage/miss/etc) seems kinda big and in my face now. Oh ya... You're on a laptop. I keep forgetting that. On my lappy, I am pretty comfortable with turning the majority of the settings down or off so I can enjoy a nice steady 25-29 fps. I'd recommend turning bump-mapping off. That can eat up a few too many resources if you're limited to begin with. |
