I've had a ridiculous amount of disconnect issues recently. I'm on PC version, and I've forwarded all ports for FFXI I could. I've re-installed FFXI as well(whee for multiple 4 hour updates). I've googled it, looked on here for topics up to 4 years old and still can't manage to figure anything out. I have a 100 mbp/s connection, I'm on a router, shared with 2 other computers in my house. I checked both of their computers for downloads/heavy bandwith usage and nothing. I really can't figure out the issue. Does anyone have any idea what I could do to fix this constant disconnection I get every time I'm on for more than 30 minutes? I wouldn't mind a disconnect every few hours, but I can't seem to stay on for more than 30 minutes max. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, first thing I'd do is figure out if your network connection or the router. Disable extraneous things like network file sharing in your network setup (pretty much just leave TCP/IP), connect your PC directly to your cable/dsl modem, and see if you encounter the same problem. If you don't you can point the finger at your router. You might have to set your computer in a DMZ. If you do encounter the 30 minute disconnect again, then it's either some software on your computer (do you have a 3rd party firewall installed?) or your ISP has decided that you don't need to be connected to anything for more than 30 minutes.

I have been having problems with DC lately too. It usually happens right before I am about to do something important. It doesn't seem to have a set time, its just random.

I don't know but it could be that you're using DHCP and IPv4 settings have an IP address or not using DHCP and not using an IP address. Only thing I could possibily come up with. Ehh unless you're using comcast, then you're sol.

Not entirely sure, one of my ls mates said comcast sends packets to limit your connection, another said they install spyware on your system. Only things I've heard from people who have it.
