Alrighty guys, I feel like a dumbass here.... so... heres my question:

I heard that through the XBox 360, your FFXI is attached to your Gamertag. Furthermore, you cant play your account on another XBox after you have registered it to your own. Well... my wife and I both play FFXI and we both would like to use the XBox for FFXI. We both have different profiles to keep track of our different accomplishments and achievements.

But if I start up FFXI (which I have yet to do because of my concern) on my Gamertag and register my account on the XBox, will my wife be able to register her account on the same XBox and play FFXI?

I am very new to the whole XBox 360 thing.... I just bought my first one yesterday.

So please help me out yall... prz!

Yes, you can register multiple accounts to the same 360, and move accounts between 360s, it's just the account and PlayOnline ID that are tied together. That is, you can play your FFXI account on another 360 if you move your XBox Live account to that 360, but you cannot use someone else's XBox Live account to log into your FFXI. If you don't both plan on playing several online games outside of FFXI, I'd recommend using the free XBox Live Silver accounts, you can't play things such as Halo using them, but they are enough to get you online for FFXI.

What Callisto said. Once your POL ID and Gamer tag are "linked," the deal is sealed. You CAN, however, log into any other Xbox360 with that gamer tag and play Final Fantasy. This is good I guess in a sense a extra security for your account(s). But given this, you CANNOT create another Gamer tag and link your POL ID to it.

I guess if by some random stroke of tradgity, you lose all info to your Xbox Live account and are unable to recover it, your eff'ed. (Well, playing via the 360 anyways )

On that note, should you ever need to unlink your FFXI account from your XBL account to change them, you need to call S-E customer service to do so.
