how do you fix the edgy graphics?
Is there a special driver or upgrade i can get that will remove the edgy step like graphics on everything in the game my antialiasing texure filtering is set on 16x and and anti aliasing is set to 8xS and it still pretty bad.

Unfortunately FFXI does not support antialiasing so those settings are doing you no good. We have to settle for oversampling. Look here and/or here for help.

That depends, sort of. While those changes are significantly better then any settings on the card, because yes, unfortunately the game does not support AF or AA, you can force your card to do it.

Set your card to override any game AA/AF settings and the GPU will try to work on the graphics itself without any help from the game engine. Personally I do the oversampling and forcing AA/AF, though with new hardware I haven't settled on a setting yet.
