Ive been wanting to play FFXI since it came out and i finally can play now, and i install it all they way, have it patched all the way. I go to open up FFXI, i do the whole playonline screen click play, screen goes black likes it going to load, then the screen just closes and playonline and FFXI are both closed, and i dont get a error message at all.
My computer scored only a 2000 on the benchmark but i should be able to play, my comp play most games at 30-50 fps.

Intel Celeron 2.4 ghz (533 FSB)
512 RAM
Nvidia 6200 oc (only in a PCI slot)
Windows XP SP2 Pro


my friends comp couldnt run the benchmark and his can run the game, and idk why mine can't and i can't figure it out, im smart with comps, but idk what is wrong with it to run FFXI, my friends comp is worse then mine and it runs it,

Most possibly the graphic card's driver. For some reason FFXI has a few problems with certain nVidia drivers, and the best suggestion is to regress to an older driver, or try one of the Omega drivers.

ok ill try omega drivers, most of the time for some reason they dont work, the only time i've ever seen an error message was when i was trying to load the game with integrated graphics, ive tried my 6200 and my 5500 and i get the black screen so ill try them with the omega drivers then

idk what going on now the drivers wont identify my 6200, so i installed my 5500 and it still wont open right and i have the omega drivers
