Hi! I'm using Logitech G15 Keyboard (with macro buttons which are legal) on a computer running Windows Vista home premium.

And this is my problem:

I use Windows Vista home Premium (Norwegian).
I installed the Vista drivers and the G15 profiler utility (latest).
I logged into FFXI (with POL vista compatible) and starts typing macros (like 1234 just to test). But the macros I make, doesnt work. No reaction at all. But when I log out of the game, they work.
Seems like I can record them but not use them.

I never had this problem running Windows XP Professional.

Can someone please help me out?! ; ;

Don't know for sure, but I'm gonna go ahead and place blame with Vista. Can't possibly tell you why or where, but that's just my guess.

Sounds like when you start POL.Exe it opens up an FFXI profile, which has no macros built in. Try using the MR record buttons to test it.

Otherwise, vista sucks, a downgrade is an upgrade, eval empire, etc.

I will send Logitech an E-mail and see what they can advice me before I give up on it. It can be the Software from Logitech, or final fantasy it self, which isnt made for VIsta in the first place. (only Vista version of POL is).

Meh. they dont have E-mail support.
the keyboard seems to work on other games, and not FFXI. <.<

I'm still open for advice. Any Vista users got it to work?

Yes I tried it. it does work when I'm not in FFXI. it even works in other games.
Simply works on everything but FFXI <.<

I tried to make the FFXI profile the default profile, so it will be active on what ever game I'm on. I can type a macro in FFXI and use it in Command and Conquer 3. but wont work in FFXI.

I would not think SE would work with logitech to make it not work if they hand it out on events. I can ask SE, but I'd probably get a silly all square answer.

I posted this on the G15 forums, hoping for an answer soon.

Problem solved:
I clicked on Control Panel -> User accounts -> Enable and disable UAC (user Account control). And disabled it.

Thank you very much for figuring this out. I had this same issue when I changed over to vista. I know everyone thinks vista is worthless. I have not found anything that makes that statement seem true. I seems like most problems that I have had or problems that other people have had, have all been operator error.

It worked for me also. Thanks again for finding the fix for this!

You didn't need to post that reply. If this poster who was having this issue had made a new thread asking for help, then someone would have blasted them for not searching the forums to find this thread. So the poster actually searched the forums, found this thread and they made a post thanking people for the help but then they have to deal with people blasting them for that.

Sorry if I came off of blasting. I was actually being sincere. I really am having that issue and really couldn't find a solution before.

I guess I can see how it seemed like I was being sarcastic, but I wasn't, I swear. I don't know how else to word it. Any suggestions?
