| Junior Member |   Hello, I need some help. (Vista)
Hey all, I'm new to the FFXI Scene. I just started playing the game about 3-4 weeks ago and I am a 29WAR/15MNK. I ran into some problems while playing on Windows Vista Ultimate. Not beta. I have the Vista-compatible POL viewer and everything, but in the middle of playing it says "pol.exe has stopped working" and I'm forced to close it which is very annoying. I have used the search function and have not found anything. Please help? Thanks. |

Close any antivirus program and close any program in the background. I also had problem with Home Premium and got the tip above from S.E

?? why does it say I posted a URL? i didn't link a URL here. sorry for the double post but i said i used pol viewer and repaired one of the files. i dunno if it solved it but i played final fantasy this morning and it went fine. i'm using eset nod32 EDIT:: NVM! i think saphireangel is confused. this is a message board; if you want to play the game, you are going to have to buy and pay for it. why are you gaming with vista? that OS is still too immature for gaming right now. Anyways, your program crashing might be a graphic driver problem, have you tried a different one?

well, i'm gaming on vista because i'm getting Halo 2 Vista + Flight Simulator X, the patch for FSX to go on Vista + DX10 is coming out soon. I like it, but I'd rather stick to XP for now, but all of my games work so I don't mind. Well except this one keeps crashing. I'm using Nvidia Vista drivers. I have Geforce FX 5200 card, soon this week upgrading to a 7600GS |

I play on Vista and it works perfectly fine. Try to reinstall grafics drivers and disable the UAC (user account control) and see if it helps.
