Pol 0021 cannot connect

I've been unable to connect to POL or the pol website for over 9 hours any one know what is wrong? I keep getting different error codes but the jist is site can't be found

err, that sounds more like your ISP/connection problem than anything else.

i've been having the same problem ever since two updates ago.
for hours (usually 6-9) at a time i have not had any access to FFXI.

Conveniently enough, I've noticed the support page from playonline.com has been down as well.

There are apparently issues with people in this region of the country. I live in Erie, PA, and I've had connection problems today, as well. I'm not sure what is causing it, but a brief read of some threads on Alla (oh, the horror - though they do get a lot more traffic) revealed that it's mostly people from this region.

It's not really the internet connection but something wrong with the link between the ISP servers and the JP servers for POL, or something like that. I don't really get all of that computer geek jargon all the time.

Regardless, if you live around Buffalo, Erie, Cleveland, or maybe even as far down as Pittsburgh then having problems is likely.

THat is a huge help *saved me from destroying my computer, reinstalling FF, and then killing myself after finding that it did not do the trick*

No matter the cause, if ANYONE is having problems with this for SO long shouldn't SE even acknowledge it? They haven't at all it seems. Maybe they're too busy working on solving the problem if they can (lol).

It seems to be partially due to the earthquake that hit japan a few days ago, a few network gurus I know said that 60% or so of the fiber optics running between North America and Japan are non-operational and may take 2-3 weeks to fix.

I just find it odd though that it only seems to affect anyone using Adelphia/Comcast/Time Warner during a massive merger, might just be a combination of the merge and the quake causing communication errors.
