Need help with macro set-up

I want to start using macros instead of the "long way" of doing commands. I have a partial list(the one that came with the game) but it doesn't help too much. I am more looking for a macro to summon and release for SMN, but any pointers will help--I have tried to set them up but only get /tells when i try to use them. Also, can someone post a link to a good site for a good macro set-up list. Im on a 360 if that will help.

GameFAQs has an faq for FFXI macros. It's kind of dated, but it does list many different macros and what they do.
