Today when I tried to login, I first got a POL update. Which was odd, but not altogether uncommon. After that, I tried to login, and was notified that my account had been cancelled due to non-payment. Which would have been fine, but there is plenty of money in my account (enough to pay for it several times over), so I'm not sure what that's about.
My main problem comes when I try to reactivate. I just get a "Now Loading" screen for a minute or two, and then I get a POL error. Nothing in my internet settings has changed from yesterday when I was able to play just fine. And I can play other online games, and access the internet with no problems. So I haven't the slightest idea what could be wrong.
So is anyone else experiencing this, or am I just lucky? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 11-02-2006, 07:37 AM | #2 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Brentwood, CA Posts: 15 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 159 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 159 Donate | Re: Unusual POL behavior after update I am also experiencing this, it must be the registration update or something, it might be afflicting with gameplay and implementing the new character info but adding to it as well, causing everyday players to not be able to log on...or maybe we're jut un-lucky Please don't blame anything I do or say about FFXI wrong on ignorance but rather on inexperience. Thanks for pointing that out.^^
So I've got another few hours before it'll even be worth it to try again. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 11-02-2006, 07:43 AM | #5 (permalink) | | Senior Veteran Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 4,416 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 102 Thanked 1,277x in 774 Posts Gil: 2,419 Bank: 79,083 Total Gil: 81,502 Donate | Re: Unusual POL behavior after update Sounds like the two issues are unrelated. The update was to be expected and fix another issue. A billing cycle just started/ended and there's always people who have their cards rejected at the beginning of the month.
As for problems reactivating: Registration Server Maintenance Extension (Nov. 2). Try again in about 3h. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 11-02-2006, 07:44 AM | #6 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Brentwood, CA Posts: 15 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 159 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 159 Donate | Re: Unusual POL behavior after update Hehe, thanks Please don't blame anything I do or say about FFXI wrong on ignorance but rather on inexperience. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 11-02-2006, 07:44 AM | #7 (permalink) | | I'm Busy Oracle of Knowledge Join Date: Jul 2005 Posts: 7,928 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 442 Thanked 1,553x in 984 Posts Gil: 1,768 Bank: 17,433 Total Gil: 19,201 Donate | Re: Unusual POL behavior after update Yeah, that's what NT just posted, Mhurron. Edit: Ah crap, I thought I was gonna be the first to point that out; then I waited 6 minutes to make my post. Last edited by Ameroth : 11-02-2006 at 07:49 AM. Thanks for responding though.
Everyone here is so dang helpful, but they all got post-blocked by NT. XD Seriously, thanks everyone who replied with the completely obvious solution that I managed to miss. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
