Failed to recognize Hardware? HELP... I'm running into a different problem than most people. Ok, I've read through most of these threads about problems, but never came up with any senerio that sounded something like this.... Terminated as error occured in Final Fantasy XI. Failed to recognize Hardware TnL.
Please check that this computer has the required specifications to run Final Fantsay XI. (-1). .....
I just got the game, loaded all the stuff, the updates from the network. yadah yadah. go to enter the game, and it goes to full screen, then comes back down to a smaller screen and tells me the message above. I've uninstalled the whole thing, and reinstalled it, but still says the same thing. As far as I know, I have all the requirements. my computer is a HP pavillion, about 2 years old. Possibly, it's the graphics card, but I have 64 mb of ram for the graphics card, and the minimum requirements are 32.... so it should run it, but perhaps being it's a generic one that came with it, it wont. I dunno. The graphics card seems to be most people's problems though. HELP! I have no money though, so i dont want to think about getting a new one if it's definitely not the graphics card. I can play the Sims 2 and it works fine, but can Lag a bit.
I tried to go through that troubleshooting list that was listed above, and did what I could. Some of them I dont know how to fix. PLEASE, my friend Tommy is begging me to play this with him, and I have the one month free! HELP me before it runs out! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 10-24-2006, 07:19 PM | #2 (permalink) | | J...atatouille Super Moderator Join Date: Dec 2002 Posts: 8,338 Style: Light - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 5 Thanked 136x in 106 Posts Gil: 22,535 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 22,535 Donate | Re: HELP!!! quick! Failed to recognize Hardware? You'll probably need to upgrade your graphic card. TnL is a hardware technology that comes with today's 3D card. If your card doesn't have it, it can't play this game. Failed to recognize Hardware? There's some third party emulators that can get around this problem, but they use your main processor and will usually cause you to lose performance on the main application. Best bet is to buy a real graphics card.

You know, it's funny... every time I walk out of Gamestop, they say: "Your computer does meet all the hardware requirements, right? You know whether or not you can play this?" Almost always, I think to myself: "I'm a PC gamer, I built the frickin' thing, sometimes I add or remove fans while the thing's still running for cryin' out loud." I used to think this was just something they added to the employee training to cover their butts in case of any legal disputes. I think now I'm starting to realize that a lot of people may be purchasing their first real graphically intensive game, and that actually makes sense to warn them about. | Originally Posted by Igor | | You know, I'll never forget my old dad. And lets try and avoid the Nvidia 6 series card due to they have some issues with the game. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 10-24-2006, 09:01 PM | #7 (permalink) | | J...atatouille Super Moderator Join Date: Dec 2002 Posts: 8,338 Style: Light - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 5 Thanked 136x in 106 Posts Gil: 22,535 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 22,535 Donate | Re: HELP!!! quick! I had an intro to computer graphic class about 3 years ago. My instructor was in his 50s and didn't know anything about computers.... He didn't allow us to plug in our head phones becuase he was afraid it might carry virus and infect the school's computers lol.
I'm using a Geforce Go 7600 right now. It runs the game very smooth. There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

And lets try and avoid the Nvidia 6 series card due to they have some issues with the game. | It's actually just the Nvidia 6600 that has issues with FFXI as far as I'm aware (and not just FFXI either, if what I've read online is to be believed).
