Game frezzes - Final Fantasy XI :: Dreams in Vana'diel :: Community

Often then I play FFXI (PC) and use Mighty Strike agaist Orcish monsters the game frezzes and I need to CTRL+ALT+DELETE and exit the game. And sometimes then I tries to play again after the froze I'm dead and sometimes not.

Anyone got a clue what's wrong?

More info is needed here, but does your pc freeze playing any other games?
But first try useing the check file function in the pol viewer.
Also you could Uninstalling the your old video card drivers, and reinstall the newest drivers for your videocard. It might be worth it to check for newer motherboard drivers also.

The computer (laptop) is new. And it dosn't freze in other games. Only played Lineage 2 and Final Fantasy XI on it.

Does it have Nvidia or Ati video acceleration? After doing the file check it would be good to upgrade the video drivers.

video acceleration? Well it's an nVIDIA GO 7200 with 256MB.

Bought the laptop in august, so I shouldn't need update drivers..right?

Would be a good idea since it does not sound to be caused overheating or anything.
And big oem's are not known for shiping the latest video drivers.
Also try upgradeing your motherboard chipset drivers also.

Dunno what motherboard I got. Latop name: HP DV 6054 EA anyways

Run CPU-Z that way you will know what motherboard chip set you have and you can get the right drivers for it. But your video drivers should be the standered geforce 7 go drivers.
