Re: FFXI + Vista = Stress-Induced Aneurysm?

You'll most likely have to use the Function/Fn key in conjunction with the button you're looking for on the laptop. They'll both be the same color. Once you get the menu open you can change the key layout to laptop and it should be easier.

The game will shutdown if it attempts to load up a graphic or model and it's missing. You might be missing a file, or it might be corrupt.

Re: FFXI + Vista = Stress-Induced Aneurysm?

My vista has issues with player modles, some missing heads, and the players, summoned avatars, chocobos are all garbled textures.

Landscapes, effects and mobs all seem to look normal, but yuck at playing like this.

Re: FFXI + Vista = Stress-Induced Aneurysm?

Two days ago I installed Vista onto my new PC. Since then, POL has been crashing roughly 1-2 hours during game play. I have already disabled UAC and installed FFXI (from POL's website for Vista POL and using the 2007 collecter edition discs), and re-installed again thinking it may be a problem with the installation.

I can sign in immediately after crash. Game play is normal except for the crash. I have beautiful graphics and absolutely no lag (even in Beseiged and Dynamis).

My husband has a laptop with Vista and he installed FFXI the same way and disabled the same things as I have and he does NOT have this problem. He has not had any issues running FFXI on his laptop.

Do you have any other suggestions that I could possible disable or tweak that will fix this problem?
