PLEASE!!Need help:PS2, Dial-up,FFXI...

I used to play this game with highspeed. But I got a new house built in the middle of no where. I can only get dial up. Can somebody please help me?? Is it possible to play FFXI with dial up on my PS2?? I am dying to play this game again. i have to see that beautiful Bastok again! Please help!!!! If you know how, please give me DETAILED information on how to get it to work step by step!! Thanks.

yes it can be played over dial-up. how you setup your ps2 for 56k modem, i dunno, i play on PC

I did a connection check after I changed my settings to dial up, and it says successful. But when I try to log on to FFXI it gives me an error and says I need to connect my ethernet cable.

You have to set up a dial-up connection from within PlayOnline viewer, and you have to tell it to you that connection when you try to log in. It's probably still defaulting to your old broadband connection settings.

You were correct. It worked.. Thanks!! OMG, the updates killed m tho. I started the updates around 8pm.. It didn't finish until 5am this morning.. Ughh.. I need highspeed in major way. But where I live, they don't service my area, it really sucks..

My best advice when dealing with updates is to update when you go to bed.
