Help Installing, Im About To Kill My Computer!

I've tried installing the game on 1 of my comptuers already. It was letting me install up to the point of Direct X8.1 . then I try to install the Online View Play and then it said it was loading and dissapeared back to the Installation Menu... Any ideas? It wont let me install ANYTHING at all.. Im guessing, did I get a bad disc when I purchased my game? everything was brand new..... I'm kinda upset about this whole thing.

Make sure that yourwindows files are updated via "Windows Update" in your taskbar.

Try manually updating your DirectX to the latest version [9.0 I believe]

Completely uninstall your other installation, then reboot.

After reboot, turn of your spyware and antivirus protection. You can also disconnect your computer from the internet if you're worried about an attack during installation.

Start installing. Do not install anything more than POV and FFXI. Afterwards, reboot and then have fun updating.

It ended up being my video card.

It ended up being my video card, I tried it on my fathers computer and it ended up working fine. turns out my box just sucks !... I appreciate the feed back, thanks!
